1) Constant Respect for Others

In the Wild West, at a time when people wore guns, respect was not an issue. Towns-Folks knew disrespect could get a person killed. Adopt/Demonstrate Wild-West-Like-Respect-Practices and give co-ownership-success a chance.

2) Pay Your Bills

Your co-owner didn't pay his/her bill - Now what? - Would you like to pick-up the tab?

3) Ownership

Keeping the Cottage clean & orderly doesn't have to be strenuous. Ownership means, owning the task of putting-things-back-in-order on exit. For example: I took the hammock out (therefore I own-it) and I will put it away before I leave. Another example: I uncovered/used the pontoon boat (I own-it). I will clean and cover the boat before I leave. If other families want to use the pontoon boat, they will have to agree to co-ownership and help clean & put it away before exiting. Ownership can be transferred. Example: Hey, I'm leaving in a few hours. Would you like me to leave the hammock out for continued use (new owner)? Simply transfer your hammock-ownership and get your walking-papers.

4) Improve

On exit, leave the cottage in better-than-arrival state. No doubt the cottage condition will degrade with every visit (another nick, another gouge, another scratch). We (all of us) must find ways to counter the affects of wear-and-tear. Take some time, with each visit, to make a contribution. And please tell everybody about it so we can share the excitement of new cottage improvements/developments.

5) Nothing Left Behind

Carefully consider leaving nothing (objects of no value, no use, just clutter) behind. Example: I no longer value my big, oddly-shaped, homemade, glued-PVC-pipe end-table - maybe someone will appreciate having it at the cottage - not!

6) Bed Linens, Bed sets & Pillows

Maximize your comfort - don't forget to bring you very own Bed Linens, Bed sets & Pillows. Remember; These items are no longer provided during your stay. Be considerate of others - don't sleep (deposit your funk) on the furniture - use proper bedding when you stay.
